Okay, it’s time for some real talk!
I am smack dab in the middle of my 4th week, which is pretty much the middle of my training program, and I’m lacking motivation! I posted this on our facebook page yesterday – it pretty much says it all.
One of the hardest parts about making a lifestyle change, losing weight, training for a 5K, or even just cleaning your house – is finding motivation to stick to it and get the job done. I definitely felt that yesterday, although as I said, I don’t know why! Here are some of the ways I stay motivated to power through that run, or that day, or that week sometimes!
- Remind myself where I used to be and compare that to where I am now.
- Set goals and put them where they’re visible.
- Keep positive accomplishments and reminders where I can see them!
- Reward myself along the way.
- Motivational quotes.
- Having a good support system.
I have found these to be helpful in all aspects in my life. I have a motivation board for my workouts and weight at home that I see every day, but I also have one at work that helps me through long days at the office. I keep my goals posted, put motivational quote backgrounds on my phone, give myself space to reward myself, and when all else fails, I call my friends that will say just the right thing to keep me going.
