Roar and Pour Wine Fest at the Topeka Zoo on Saturday, April 29th
April 29 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center is excited for the return of its annual Roar & Pour Wine Fest presented by Kaw Valley Bank. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, April 29th and promises to be bigger and better than ever, with fantastic wine, food, and entertainment at the Zoo!
Roar & Pour Wine Fest will take place on Saturday, April 29th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., with a VIP Reception from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. General Admission tickets are $60, VIP tickets are $90, and Designated Driver tickets are $25.
New this year is the VIP experience, which includes VIP parking and a VIP Fast Pass, allowing guests to “skip-the-lines” at each food and winery location. Upon arrival, VIP guests are invited to explore the new Giraffe and Friends exhibit while enjoying a delicious cider, provided by Z&M Twisted Vineyard and Winery. VIP guests will then make their way to the Venue located in the Kay McFarland Japanese Garden, where they will enjoy food provided by Bobby’s Food Co. and a flight of 4 wines. Nate in the Evening will provide the musical entertainment for the VIP section. All proceeds from the event benefit educational programming, exhibit enhancements, and operational support.
Roar & Pour Wine Fest presented by Kay Valley Bank is bringing back a popular feature that has been missing since the pandemic. Eight local artists and eight Topeka Zoo
animals are collaborating on unique works of art that will be showcased and auctioned off to support the Zoo. This fun endeavor, coordinated by DeAna Morrison of Amused
Gallery, has produced a unique collection of art in varying styles. Each piece of art includes contributions from both artist and animal. The painting process for the animals
is an enriching and sensory-stimulating activity, creating a unique experience and a one-of-a-kind art piece.
The participating local artists include Doug Frye, who has teamed up with Cassie the mountain lion, Lisa LaRue Baker, who has paired with Rudy the orangutan, Sara Myer, who is working with Albert the otter, Andrea Nix, who is painting with Tembo the elephant, Devin Wineinger, who will team up with the tigers, Nancy Jones, who chose Vision the hippo, and Allison Smith, who is working with the lorikeets.
“At this year’s event we are dedicated to elevating the guest experience. We are increasing the amount of pouring stations and adding entertainment, which is an added value for our guests,” said Andrea Jones, Special Events Coordinator. “We’re adding new features to our VIP experience, such as a fast pass for tastings. We are incredibly excited
to celebrate our 90th anniversary and showcase the Zoo’s newest addition, Giraffe & Friends.”
